For three weeks only, you have a unique opportunity to see the exceptionally rare sculpture "Torso on a Stool II" by academic sculptor Jakub Bachorík at SOCHÁRIUM Gallery. After that, the work will embark on an exhibition tour lasting nearly a year, making future opportunities to view it extremely limited.
The bronze sculpture Torso on a Stool II represents a further evolution of the artist's original concept, refined into an even purer and more expressive form. The stylized, mirror-polished female torso is both elegant and commanding, allowing its flawless modelling and masterful surface treatment to take centre stage. The highly polished bronze torso contrasts with a robust base that evokes wood. Yet the base is not a separate element; it is an integral part of the bronze casting, reinforcing both the unity of the work and its sophisticated material illusion.
The sculpture is ideally suited to contemporary, architecturally clean interiors, where the play of light across its polished surface and the contrast between smooth and textured modelling can be fully appreciated.
Currently available: Cast No. 2 from a strictly limited edition of only 7 casts.
