The polished bronze sculpture "So Fly Then" was created by Petr Kuba in 2024 and finished with a greenish patina.
It is a unique original, marked 1/1. The artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
The piece captures a delicate moment in which a child lets a small bird take flight from their hand — a gesture of trust and a symbolic first step toward independence.
Beside the adult figure, a second bird spreads its wings, preparing for its own departure. It seems to wait until the child takes that first "flight" — in symbol and in life. Only then does it set off on its own path, a natural part of the process of letting go.
The sculpture tells the story of a shared moment of change — a time when care transforms into trust and when both the child and the adult embrace a new stage of life.
For his bronze and tin sculptures, academic sculptor Petr Kuba prepares the models directly from wax. These wax models are irreversibly lost during the process of creating the casting mold, making each resulting piece a truly unique original. We warmly recommend viewing the sculpture in person, as the complexity of the forms and the finest details—often achievable only thanks to the modeling technology used—can only be partially captured in photographs.
