Painting "Early Spring in the Podkrkonoší Region" from 1981 belongs to the artist's private gold reserve, in which he has, over decades, assembled a selection of works kept outside the market. This private part of his oeuvre has until now remained inaccessible and was created without the ambition to be sold, thus offering an all the more authentic insight into the artist's creative world.
The painting is now offered for acquisition for the first time, as the artist has exceptionally opened and released part of his gold reserve for the exhibition ELEGANCE.
The work captures the Podkrkonoší landscape at the turn of winter and spring, at a moment of quiet awakening. Soft horizons, subdued tones and the motif of stone fragments in the foreground create an image of the landscape as a bearer of memory and time. The fact that the artist no longer returns to this subject makes the work exceptionally rare.
The work is signed, and on the reverse bears its title and date. Its dimensions, including the frame, are 108 × 97 cm. The painting is set in its original frame, selected by the artist as the most suitable for this subject. Both the canvas and the frame bear a natural patina of time and minor signs of age, which enhance the authenticity of the work and the period of its creation. The frame is an integral part of the work, although it may be adjusted or replaced if necessary to best suit the character of the interior.
