The painting "Diana's Toilette" from 1981 belongs to the artist's private gold reserve, in which he has, over decades, assembled a selection of works kept outside the market. This private part of his oeuvre has until now remained inaccessible and was created without the ambition to be sold, thus offering an especially authentic insight into the artist's creative world.
The painting is now offered for acquisition for the first time, as the artist has exceptionally opened and released part of his gold reserve for the exhibition ELEGANCE.
The work titled "Diana's Toilette" approaches the theme of feminine preparation in an unconventional way. Instead of a literal depiction of a dressing table, it focuses on the body itself as a bearer of beauty and identity. A fragment of the figure, complemented by subtle references to the world of cosmetics, creates an intimate yet stylised image of a woman in a moment between naturalness and cultivated appearance.
The work is signed, and on the reverse bears its title and date. Its dimensions, including the frame, are 112 × 91 cm. The painting is set in its original white frame, selected by the artist as the most suitable for this subject. Both the canvas and the frame bear a natural patina of time and minor signs of age, which enhance the authenticity of the work and the period of its creation. The frame is an integral part of the work, although it may be adjusted or replaced if necessary to best suit the character of the interior.
You can reserve the artwork immediately; however, it can only be collected after the end of the exhibition ELEGANCE at the Novoměstská radnice.
