Sculptor Daniel Janec explores interpersonal relationships and their essence through his figurative sculptures. However, he deliberately leaves the meaning of his work open. It is up to the viewer how they interpret it, what they bring into it, and which hidden corners of their consciousness the sculpture awakens with its energy and emotion.
In his work, the artist often turns to mythological motifs. Through the theme of centaurs, he portrays dual beings—two souls trapped in a single body—becoming a powerful symbol of inner tension, contradiction, and restlessness inherent to each of us. This line includes not only the offered sculpture "Opposites", but also works such as "The Couple," "The Kiss," and "Dressage."
We offer cast no. 3 of the bronze sculpture "Opposites" from a limited edition of 7 pieces. The work was created in 2004. It is a dominant piece that requires a generous space. The energy it radiates acts as an inexhaustible source of emotion and inner tension. The sculpture immediately commands both space and attention, lingering in the viewer long after the first encounter.
The height of the bronze sculpture itself is 106 cm.
The overall dimensions of the work are 200 × 105 × 47 cm.
The dimensions of the base are 80 × 47 cm.
Handling the sculpture is technically demanding.
