The wooden sculpture "Guardian" (2026) is crafted from subfossil oak, a material that carries within it the memory of time and the strength of nature. The artist combines his characteristic carving motif with the ancient "creation" of the earth itself, resulting in a work of remarkable authenticity.
With her single eye, the Guardian symbolically watches over the space and its inhabitants, becoming a protector of home, peace, and inner balance.
The sculpture is suitable for outdoor placement; however, due to its delicate and subtle form, the artist recommends installing it indoors, where it will best preserve its distinctive dark patina.
Subfossil oak is traditionally perceived as a symbol of durability and strong bonds. It is often associated with the motif of a wooden wedding anniversary, celebrated after five years of marriage, representing a relationship that withstands the passage of time.
Subfossil oak is an exceptional material formed from fossilized oak trunks and can be hundreds to thousands of years old. The sculpture is therefore unique not only in its form but also in its material, which connects it to the deep history of planet Earth (see also the final report "Subfossil Trunks – Doubrava Sandpit" by experts from the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at Mendel University in Brno).
