The wooden sculpture "Gymnastics" (2026) presents a dynamic figure captured in motion. The figure is made of a wood composite based on subfossil oak, while the swing structure is crafted from solid subfossil oak.
Here, the artist explores the theme of sport, which is personally close to him. As an active athlete, he approaches the subject with a natural sense for movement, tension, and balance. The result is a sculpture that feels light and playful, yet carries the strength of the moment and the concentration required for performance.
Subfossil oak is an exceptional material formed from fossilized oak trunks and can be hundreds to thousands of years old. The sculpture is therefore unique not only in its form but also in its material, which connects it to the deep history of planet Earth (see also the final report "Subfossil Trunks – Doubrava Sandpit" by experts from the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at Mendel University in Brno).
