The painting "Carrying the Cross" from 2000 addresses a classical theme. Christ is not depicted merely as a biblical figure, but as a symbol of the human condition and the inner strength to bear one's own burden. Each person carries their own cross, and in this personal dimension the motif gains a timeless and profoundly human meaning.
The artwork is signed on the reverse and bears the title and date. The dimensions including the frame are 60 × 51 cm. The painting is set in a gold, representative frame chosen by the artist as the most suitable for this subject. The frame is provided as a bonus, and the buyer may reframe the artwork according to their own preferences to best suit their interior.
Presented at the jubilee exhibition ELEGANCE at the New Town Hall in Prague (2026), organized on the occasion of Jan Rapin's 70th birthday.
