The painting "Still Life with Violin and Lute" from 1911 belongs to the artist's golden deposit, in which the painter accumulated over decades a selection of works kept outside the market. This private part of his oeuvre has until now remained inaccessible and was created without the ambition to be sold, thus offering an even more authentic insight into the artist's creative world.
The painting is now offered for acquisition for the first time, as the artist has exceptionally opened and released part of his golden deposit for the exhibition ELEGANCE.
The still life with a musical motif unfolds a quiet dialogue of forms and meanings. The curves of the instrument and surrounding shapes form a composition that may evoke human silhouettes, perhaps a suggestion of a woman and a man hidden in the rhythm of lines. The whole carries not only tension, but also intimacy.
The work is signed, and on the reverse bears the title and date. Dimensions including the frame: 64 × 84 cm. The painting is set in its original frame, which the artist selected as the most suitable for the subject. The frame bears a natural patina of time, and subtle traces of age enhance its authenticity. The frame is an integral part of the work; however, it may be adjusted or replaced if necessary to best suit the character of the interior.
You can reserve the artwork immediately; however, it can only be collected after the end of the exhibition ELEGANCE at the Novoměstská radnice.
