Description
The painting "Odalisque" was created within the last ten years, a period during which the artist occasionally does not date his works.
A classical work by Jan Rapin. A beautiful, seductive, and in every detail perfect lady becomes a temptation. In European painting, for example in the works of Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres and Henri Matisse, the odalisque became a symbol of exotic beauty, feminine elegance, and intimate atmosphere. The figure is complemented only by a vivid red accent of passion, which draws all attention.
The work is signed and titled on the reverse. The dimensions including the frame are 82 × 102 cm.
