The monumental sculptures Angels, carved from rare Carrara marble, were created by Czech sculptor Dalibor Šebesta as an inseparable pair. At the artist's explicit request, the two figures are intended to stand together, as guardians of one place, one home, and one story. Although each sculpture exists independently, only their mutual dialogue completes the work as a whole.
Šebesta's angels are portrayed as beings of spiritual strength. Their purpose lies in quiet vigilance.
The figures themselves measure two metres in height, yet thanks to their subtle modelling and a depth of only fifteen centimetres, they appear light and almost weightless. Designed to be placed against a wall or façade, they become an integral part of the architecture, transforming the entrance to a home into a symbolic gateway watched over by celestial guardians.
By day, the Carrara marble reflects sunlight and emphasizes the purity of the forms. By night, when illuminated, the angels take on an almost ethereal presence. For a moment, they seem to become beings suspended between earth and heaven, silently watching over the place entrusted to their protection.
